Part 2 of the minidisc recordings. These are the remaining tracks from a group of stereo Minidisc recordings done in early 2010. Each song was recorded in one continuous take using a MIDI sequencer / audio manipulator that I built in PureData (Pd).
All sounds originating from hardware:
Korg ES-1mkII sampler, Novation X-station25 synth, Boss DD-20 and Akai Headrush set up as loopers which were run through various effects: Lexicon MPX200 (MIDI-controlled) rack effects, Electro-Harmonix PolyChorus, Boss PS-5 pitch-shifter, Boss SYB-3 bass synth, Line6 Verbzilla.
A laptop served as the source for sending MIDI messages to the hardware. Audio from these devices was simultaneously run back through Pd on the laptop to produce glitchy effects and rhythmic stuttering. The resulting audio was recorded as a "live performance" to a stereo Minidisc recorder.
(Again) special thanks to Ryan Aldrich for help with mastering these raw recordings and getting them to sound more balanced.
